1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the services provided by Handy Andy, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms apply to all customers, visitors, and users of our furniture repair and refinishing services throughout Grants, NM and surrounding areas including Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and all of New Mexico.
If you are using our services on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms, and "you" will refer to both the individual and the entity.
2. Service Descriptions and Pricing
Handy Andy provides professional office furniture repair and refinishing services including desk restoration, chair repair, conference table refinishing, and cabinet restoration. All service descriptions, pricing, and estimated completion times are provided as approximations and may vary based on:
- The extent of damage or wear to your furniture
- Material availability and quality requirements
- Current workshop workload and scheduling
- Access to your location for on-site assessments
Price quotes provided during consultation are valid for 30 days from the date of issuance. After this period, quotes may be subject to revision based on material costs and labor requirements.
3. Appointment and Scheduling
When you schedule a service appointment with Handy Andy, you agree to:
- Provide accurate contact information for communications regarding your project
- Maintain accessibility to your furniture during scheduled assessment and work periods
- Notify us at least 48 hours in advance if you need to reschedule an appointment
- Ensure clear access to the furniture requiring service at your location
We strive to arrive within the scheduled time window. However, traffic conditions and completion times for previous jobs may occasionally cause delays. We appreciate your understanding and will communicate any significant schedule changes promptly.
4. Payment Terms and Conditions
Payment for our furniture restoration services is due as follows:
- Assessments: On-site assessments are provided at no charge for projects valued over $200. A $50 assessment fee may apply for smaller jobs.
- Deposits: A 50% deposit is required before work begins on projects exceeding $500. This deposit is non-refundable if you cancel after work has commenced.
- Final Payment: The remaining balance is due upon completion of work and before furniture is released for return or pickup.
We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards. Payment arrangements for large commercial projects can be discussed with our team and documented through separate billing agreements.
5. Customer Responsibilities
To ensure successful completion of your furniture restoration project, customers are responsible for:
- Clearing the work area and providing adequate space for our technicians to operate safely
- Removing personal items, documents, and sensitive materials from furniture before service
- Providing accurate information about the condition and history of your furniture
- Notifying us of any environmental factors that may affect the restoration process
- Securing pets and ensuring a safe working environment during our presence
6. Warranty and Quality Guarantees
Handy Andy stands behind the quality of our workmanship. Our restoration services include the following assurances:
- Workmanship Guarantee: We commit to completing restoration work according to the specifications discussed during your consultation. If you notice issues directly related to our craftsmanship within 30 days of completion, we will address them promptly at no additional charge.
- Material Quality: We use professional-grade materials including industrial finishes, replacement hardware, and upholstery supplies from trusted manufacturers.
- Color Matching: While we make every effort to match existing finishes perfectly, slight variations may occur due to factors like wood age, previous treatments, and material availability.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, environmental factors, or normal wear occurring after work completion.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Handy Andy shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
- Damage to items not under our direct care and control during service
- Pre-existing conditions or latent defects in furniture submitted for restoration
Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim. This limitation applies regardless of whether the claim is based on contract, tort, negligence, or any other legal theory.
8. Service Areas and Coverage
Handy Andy provides furniture restoration services throughout central New Mexico, including:
- Primary Service Area: Grants, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Farmington, and surrounding communities in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Santa Fe, and San Juan counties.
- Extended Service Area: We travel up to 100 miles from our Grants location for commercial projects. Travel charges may apply for locations beyond this range.
- Shipping Options: Customers outside our service area may ship furniture to our workshop. Shipping costs and insurance are the customer's responsibility.
9. Intellectual Property Rights
Photographs and documentation created during the restoration process remain the property of Handy Andy. We may use before-and-after photographs and project descriptions for promotional purposes, marketing materials, and our portfolio unless you specifically request otherwise in writing.
Any custom designs, techniques, or methods developed specifically for your project remain the intellectual property of Handy Andy and may be used for future projects with similar requirements.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Information collected during the consultation and service process is used solely for:
- Providing quotes and estimates for requested services
- Communicating about scheduled appointments and project progress
- Processing payments and maintaining service records
- Improving our services and customer experience
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Financial information is processed securely through our payment providers and is not stored on our systems beyond transaction completion.
11. Termination of Services
Handy Andy reserves the right to terminate or suspend services if:
- Customer behavior creates safety concerns for our technicians
- Payment obligations are not met according to agreed terms
- The scope of work exceeds what was originally discussed without agreement on additional costs
- Customer requests work that we cannot perform to professional standards
In case of termination, any prepaid amounts for uncompleted work will be refunded minus costs incurred to date.

13. Modifications to Terms
Handy Andy reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. The date of last update will be indicated at the bottom of this document.
Continued use of our services after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
